Times are tough these days, the financial crunch has affected all walks of life, from the blue collar workers to doctors, lawyers and yes, even mega super stores like Walmart. So much so that you can now purchase a casket online at Walmart. You heard me right, online, casket, Walmart

Your loved ones will be happy and comforted to know you only paid $895 for the “Dad Remembered” or “Mom Remembered” casket which you purchased online at Walmart

The Mophie Juice Pack Air is a backup battery/hard case combo for the iPhone and has a simple, two-piece construction.
Design
The design of the Mophie Juice Pack Air is similar to other iPhone hard cases, the biggest difference being you slide the phone in from the top instead of from the bottom up. This is due the the data/battery connector. Once your iPhone is set in the Juice Pack Air, it and the Juice Pack Air can be charged simultaneously by plugging into any USB slot on your computer, with the included cable or, the standard wall adapter included with the iPhone.
I’m not a fan of the shiny black finish, it attracts fingerprints like there’s no tomorrow. Mophie should take a look at the Incase protective sliders for some ideas on a smudge free case. I hate seeing my fingerprints and smears all over my phone, makes it look tacky and dirty. I would much prefer a no-slip grip and soft-touch rubberized finish.
My other complaint, if that’s what you want to call it, once you slide your iPhone into the nice, shiny, black, white or purple Juice Pack Air, the thickness is double the size. Now I don’t know about you but one of the main reasons for purchasing the iPhone was for the slim, sleek style. Then again, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. You either get the ultra slim iPhone with a battery that, if you’re lucky, will last until you get home or, you can slide into the Juice Pack Air and get twice the battery life.
Battery Life
There are 4 battery indicator lights on the back, with the touch of a finger the lights will indicate the remaining battery life.
According to Mophie the battery life specs are as follows:
• Standby Time: 270 hours
• Talk Time: Up to 4.5 hours (3G) / Up to 9 hours (2G)
• Internet Use: Up to 4.5 hours (3G) / Up to 5.4 hours (Wi-Fi)
• Audio Playback: Up to 20 hours
• Video Playback: Up to 6 hours
That’s a lot of added juice and should keep you going for quite some time.
My Recommendation
I would recommend the Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone users who frequently drain their battery, people who travel often, or anyone who just has to have the latest gadget. If you want a hard case that’s also a backup battery and actually works, your $80 will be well spent.

As some of you are aware, I’ve been working out daily for the past 1 – 1 1/2 years. Aside from my cardio workouts intensifying I’ve had little results as far as weight loss or even body fat loss. You would think with such an intense workout I’d lose something, right?

When I worked out with a trainer, his philosophy was … “if you’re gaining weight, look at what you’re eating”. My calorie intake is between 1200 – 1500 calories per day with no more than 20 grams of fat, 138 grams of carbohydrates and 116 grams of protein. So you see, my calorie, fat, carb and protein intake isn’t outrageous and I should be losing weight.

My next step in trying to achieve my weight loss goal… INSANITY™. I can’t remember where I first heard of Insanity™ but I knew, as some point, I was going to get these DVD’s. I finally got them the week of 9/14/09 and decided to wait until 9/20/09 to start. Keep in mind that since I pay for my gym membership I’m continuing my normal exercise routine, just adding Insanity™.

  • Day 1 – Sept 20, 2009
    09:00 – 10:00: 24 Cycle
    10:00 – 11:00: 24 Lift
    11:30 – 12:45: Insanity™ Fit Test
  • Day 2 – Sept 21, 2009
    07:00 – 15:45: Work
    16:15 – 17:00: Insanity™ Plyometric Cardio Circuit
    18:00 – 19:00: 24 Lift
    19:00 – 20:00: Boot Camp
  • Day 3 – Sept 22, 2009
    07:00 – 15:45: Work
    17:15 – 17:45: Run
    18:00 – 19:00: 24 Cycle
    19:30 – 20:15: Insanity™ Cardio Power & Resistance

You want to talk about some screaming calves? Good lord! Not only am I having a difficult time walking but I hurts to cross my legs and it’s even worse going from a sitting position to walking.

I’ll keep you all posted on my progress. Keep you fingers crossed that Insanity™ helps me reach my goal. I think after this 60 day program I’m going back to P90X. I only completed a month the first time I tried it, mainly because I prefer working out in a group environment.

We are defending against a denial-of-service attack, and will update status again shortly.

Update: the site is back up, but we are continuing to defend against and recover from this attack.

I recently received an HP dv2 review unit to check out, play with and see exactly what it offers. I’ve only had the chance to use the dv2 for a little more than a week, but think I have a good feel for what’s offered and any pros or cons I feel the dv2 has.

The dv2 is approximately 11.5 inches wide, 9.5 inches, and deep x 1.25 inches thick. The thickness tapers off to a little less than an inch in the front when closed. It has a 12.1″ diagonal HP BrightView LED display which I consider to be so much more usable than the typical 7″ to 10″ netbook screen. The screen measures 12.1 inches diagonally which is 2 or 3 inches bigger than most netbook screens. You can get the dv2 in express black or, like the unit I received, moonlight white. The dv2 is considered and entertainment laptop and comes loaded with HP MediaSmart, Muvee Reveal, Cyberlink DVD Suite, Adobe® Acrobat Reader, HP Games Powered by Wild Tangent. It also comes with Music Maker 14 which you can install.

The screen and keyboard are comparable to most other small notebooks. Compared to the mini the dv2 is one pound heavier and the monitor is two inches bigger. After getting used to the key locations I don’t see any problem using the dv2 on a regular basis.

As much as I like the HP dv2 there are a few cons. I’m not a huge fan of any laptop or mini trackpad and as nice as the shiny silver tone trackpad on the dv2 looks, I have to use a bit more pressure to get the pointer to move. Luckily HP provided a wireless mouse as well, does that mean HP is aware that pretty isn’t always functional? For the size of the dv2 the fan is pretty noisy. The heat vent isn’t located in the back like most laptops; rather it’s located on the left side towards the front. Since I sit in a not so over-sized chair, the heat deflects off the arms of the chair. No wonder I thought the dv2 ran hotter than most laptops. I just need to find a small “snack” table to use along with the cooling pad.

A few key pros, for me anyway, the dv2 has three, yes three USB ports. Combine that with every other port you could possibly need not to mention they are all conveniently located on the right or left, the 4GB of RAM and the 320GB hard drive and you have yourself a great little laptop
This was my first experience working with Microsoft® Windows Vista, if I could install Microsoft® Windows XP, I would do it in a heartbeat. I’m not a fan of a pop up window appearing every time I want to install, delete or change an application and boot up is one of the slowest experiences with Vista. HP should consider having XP installed or waiting for Windows® 7.

Included with my review unit is an external Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer. Sadly I’m not a Blu-Ray DVD player owner so in order to test the Blu-Ray player out I purchased Grand Torino. Great movie, awesome in Blu-Ray viewed with the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD Premium Graphics.

Aside from game and program intensive people the HP Pavilion dv2 is powerful with enough speed to satisfy most people. All in all the price of the dv2 is comparable to laptops with similar features.
